New Players Guide – Total War Battles: KINGDOM

By Matty CA

Greetings, lords and ladies! Welcome to Total War Battles: KINGDOM, a challenging free-to-play, persistent-world strategy game for phones and tablets on iOS and Android, as well as for PC and Mac via Facebook, the Facebook PC Gaming Platform and Steam.

To stay up-to-date on the game, you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram, and you can discuss strategies, ask questions and find other players on our official Total War forums.

Whether you’re new to your Realm or a veteran, we recommend delving into this page to learn more about the game, our various channels and what upcoming features the game will introduce.

If you want to find out more about Gameplay in your Realm, a great first stop is our King’s Council video series.

Our first episode gives you a brief introduction into the Realm side of the game and what you should look out for.

In this episode, we talk about all the different resources that make up your economy and how best to manage them.

Since water management can be a bit tricky and can sometimes lead to rather unfortunate consequences, we’re going more in-depth on this element of the game in episode 3.

Once you hit the mid-game you will probably want to start using your Blacksmiths to craft items and units, so in this episode you can find all you need to know.

If you like it short and snappy, check out this video, telling you all you need to know about tracking.

If you want to get your head around our latest addition to the game, the Viking Outpost game mode, have a look at this video.

But, what if you prefer a good read that goes right down to the knitty gritty, you ask? Don’t fret, we got you covered with our dev blogs about water management terraforming.

Dev Blog 5 – Shaping The Realm

Finally, if you want to learn the ropes from one of your fellow players, these excellent guides on Steam are just the thing for you:

Any questions? Well of course we got some info about Battles too – cue round 2.

As with the King’s Council, we’ve got a video series to get you started, called the War Council.

To get things started, check out this introduction to battle gameplay.

Next we have a two-parter about order, because there are a lot of them, and you don’t want to miss anything important.

If you want to have it all black on white, dev blog numero six has you covered.

Dev Blog 6 – Orders

Moving on from Orders we have a variety of guides about the units making up your army:

Dev blog 7 covers the bases – recruitment, stats, how different units compare to each other on the battlefield and a breakdown of all the unit skills.

Dev Blog 7 – Units Part I

And Episode 5 – Ranged Infantry.

In addition to this video, we covered Ranged infantery in more depth this dev blog.
